A clear plan for college sports and beyond.

Blueprint to Success Advisory helps athletes and families understand where they stand, prioritize development and recruiting decisions, evaluate college fit and scholarship opportunities where available, and move forward with ongoing guidance.

For college-bound athletes, current college athletes, and the families supporting them. Football, tennis, soccer, and other supported sports.

Led by Justin King — professional football, scouting, college recruiting, and league operations experience, now applied to the decisions families make one at a time.

The questions families bring us

If you've asked any of these,
you're in the right place.

Where does our athlete realistically stand?

What should we prioritize in development, recruiting, and exposure?

Are camps, showcases, training, and outreach supporting a coherent plan?

Which colleges fit the athlete's ability, academics, interests, and our family's circumstances?

What does recruiting interest actually mean, and what should we be asking?

How do we connect advice from coaches, counselors, and everyone else?

Who helps us review the plan as things change?

How does this decision support our athlete's future beyond competition?

Choose your situation

Four starting points. One advisory relationship.

Preparing for college athletics

An honest assessment, development priorities, recruiting direction, and a realistic view of the opportunities ahead.

Pursuing selective colleges

Ivy League, Patriot League, and academically selective Division III — athletic potential aligned with academic preparation and college fit.

Evaluating scholarship opportunities

Understanding recruiting options, scholarship opportunities where available, costs, and the overall fit of a college choice.

Already competing in college

Development priorities, academic and program fit, changing goals, and the next decision in front of you — including transfer portal moves.

Transfer portal engagements →
Transfer Portal

The portal window is short.
The decision isn't.

Entering the portal starts a clock. Coaches move fast, information arrives unevenly, and the people talking to your athlete all have a stake in the outcome. Blueprint gives you an independent read before you commit — where the athlete actually stands, what the interest means, and which option holds up when the excitement wears off.

Before you enter

An honest assessment of where the athlete stands and what the market realistically looks like at their position and level — so entering is a decision, not a reaction.

While you're in it

Compare programs against ability, academics, playing time, cost, and fit. Prepare for the conversations. Understand what interest actually means and what to ask.

Before you commit

A last independent look at the option in front of you, against the alternatives and against the athlete's goals beyond competition.

What you receive

Tangible work, not general encouragement.

Every engagement produces documents you keep and use — written in plain language, grounded in the evidence available, with uncertainties named rather than papered over.

Assessment

Where the athlete stands today, using relevant evidence and clearly identified uncertainties.

Priorities

Development needs, the decisions that matter, and where effort should actually go.

The Blueprint

Recruiting, college fit, academics, family priorities, and future goals connected into one actionable plan.

Decision support

Preparation for conversations, comparison of opportunities, and a clear view of the tradeoffs.

College comparison framework

A structured way to weigh programs against ability, academics, cost, and fit — side by side.

Ongoing reviews

Revisit priorities as performance, goals, and recruiting interest change — within the scope you purchase.

This is the actual work.

How it works

Five steps. No surprises.

1

Inquiry

A short form. Tell us the athlete, the stage, and the decision in front of you.

2

Consultation

A conversation about your situation, whether Blueprint fits, and what it would involve.

3

Agreed scope

Deliverables, timeline, and fee confirmed in writing before any work begins.

4

Assessment & plan

We build the Blueprint and walk you through it together.

5

Ongoing support

Reviews as circumstances change, where included in your engagement.

The consultation is a conversation about fit, scope, and next steps. Before the next major commitment, understand your athlete's position, your options, and the plan ahead.

Blueprint to Success Advisory

Two levels of engagement.

Both begin with the same assessment. The difference is how long we stay with you.

Level One

Blueprint Assessment

For families who want a clear, honest read and a plan they can execute themselves.

  • Full athlete assessment with uncertainties identified
  • Development and decision priorities
  • Individualized written Blueprint
  • College comparison framework
  • Review session to walk through the plan

Fee confirmed in your scope agreement. One-time engagement. Ongoing reviews are not included at this level.

Request a Consultation
Level Two

Blueprint Advisory

For families who want someone alongside them through the decisions, not just before them.

  • Everything in the Blueprint Assessment
  • Scheduled reviews as circumstances change
  • Decision support ahead of key conversations
  • Opportunity comparison as interest develops
  • Direct access to Justin within the agreed scope

Fee and review cadence confirmed in your scope agreement. Term-based engagement with defined access — not unlimited availability.

Request a Consultation

Fees depend on scope and are confirmed in writing before any work begins. Most family engagements fall into a range we'll discuss on the consultation.

Blueprint isn’t for everyone

It’s not a fit if you’re looking for someone to get your athlete recruited, promise a scholarship, or contact programs on your behalf. That’s representation, and we don’t do it.

It’s also not a fit if the athlete isn’t invested. The plan only works if they’re the one executing it.

If what you want is an honest read and a plan you can act on, that’s exactly what this is.

Blueprint is a paid professional advisory service. L.I.G. is not an agency and does not provide athlete representation. Any future representation would be separately scoped and agreed — purchasing Blueprint commits you to nothing beyond the engagement you sign.

What families say

In their words.

“His unique insights and holistic approach on the recruiting process, NIL… have helped us tremendously.”

Father of a Penn State commit

“The process required our son to take an introspective look at where he currently is and where he wants to go in this next phase of his young career.”

Father of a Navy commit

“A powerhouse of professionalism and expertise in navigating the nuanced football business: recruiting, NIL, branding, player development.”

Case examples

Anonymized. Every family’s situation is different, and nothing here is a prediction of what any other athlete will experience.

No offers → service academy

The situation. An athlete with no offers and no clear direction, unsure where he fit or what level was realistic.

What the assessment found. His profile pointed to a different position than the one he was playing, and a different type of program than the one he was targeting.

What he decided. He changed schools and positions. He finished the cycle with 24 offers and is now in his third year playing football at the Naval Academy.

Transfer portal — dropped late

The situation. An athlete in the portal who was dropped at the last minute, with the window closing and no landing spot.

What the assessment found. A clear read on where the market actually stood at his position and which program profiles were a genuine fit rather than a reach.

What he decided. He committed to a program that fit how he plays and what he needed academically — a fit he would not have found by chasing the obvious names.

Where the work has gone

Programs across our families’ recruiting journeys.

Schools that have recruited, offered, or signed athletes we’ve advised — across Power Four, service academies, the Ivy League, and FCS. Listing a program is not a claim of partnership, endorsement, or any relationship with the institution.

About Justin

The person you'll actually be talking to.

Justin King has spent his career on the evaluation side of sport — professional football, scouting, college recruiting, league operations, and strategic consulting. He started L.I.G. because families kept asking him the same questions privately, and no one was answering them honestly.

Every Blueprint is built and delivered by Justin, using the evaluation systems he developed over three decades in the sport. The consultation is with him. The reviews are with him. That’s the limit on how many families we take — and it’s deliberate.

Common questions

Answered plainly.

Who is Blueprint for?

College-bound athletes, current college athletes, and the families supporting them — in football, tennis, soccer, and other supported sports. Families come to us at different stages: early planning, active recruiting, evaluating offers, or already on a college roster and facing the next decision.

Do we need existing offers or a scholarship to work with you?

No. Many families engage us before any recruiting interest exists, which is often when the work matters most. Others come with offers in hand and want help comparing them.

Do you support academically selective college goals?

Yes. Ivy League, Patriot League, and academically selective Division III paths are a regular part of our work, where athletic potential has to be aligned with academic preparation and college fit.

How does Blueprint complement our coach or counselor?

It connects them. Coaches know the sport, counselors know the academics, and most families are left assembling the pieces alone. Blueprint puts development, recruiting, academics, and family priorities into a single plan everyone can work from.

How does advisory differ from representation?

Advisory means assessment, preparation, and decision support — helping you understand your position and your options. L.I.G. is not an agency and does not provide athlete representation. Any future representation arrangement would be separately scoped and agreed, and nothing in a Blueprint engagement commits you to one.

What support continues after the initial plan?

That depends on which level you choose. The Blueprint Assessment is a one-time engagement. Blueprint Advisory includes scheduled reviews and decision support for the agreed term. Your scope agreement states exactly what's included — we don't offer unlimited access.

How are scope and fees determined?

In the consultation. We discuss your situation, agree what the engagement should cover, and confirm deliverables, timeline, and fee in writing before any work begins. No work starts without a signed scope.

Can you promise a scholarship, roster spot, or admission?

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. We provide assessment, planning, and decision support. Outcomes depend on the athlete, the programs, and factors outside anyone's control.

Start with a conversation.

What the conversation actually is

Thirty minutes. You describe where your athlete is and what decision is in front of you. Justin tells you honestly whether Blueprint is the right fit — including when it isn’t. If it is, you’ll get scope and fee in writing before anything begins. If it isn’t, you’ll leave with a clearer read than you came in with.

No pressure, no package pitched on the call, nothing you have to decide in the moment.

Tell us a little about your athlete and the decision in front of you. We'll follow up to arrange a conversation about fit, scope, and next steps.

You don't need to attend a webinar, subscribe to anything, or create an account to talk to us.

We'll only use this to respond to your inquiry. Academic, financial, and athlete materials are collected later through private intake, if we move forward.

Before the next major commitment, know where you stand.
